Board Members

Board President: Richard Daileader is a retired banker who most recently was a Managing Director at Ally Corporate Finance. He earned a B.S. in Business Administration from St. John’s University and an M.B.A. from Fordham University School of Business. As an avid hiker, Rich successfully thru-hiked the Appalachian Trail in 2009 and sectioned hiked the Pacific Crest Trail. Rich is a former Board Member of the Appalachian Trail Conservancy and the North Carolina Outward Bound School. Rich is currently involved with Big Brothers/Big Sisters, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and resides in Brevard, North Carolina and Buena Vista, Colorado.

Board Vice President: Joe Brendler is an Army veteran who served over 31 years as a Signal Officer and retired at the rank of Major General. In 2017, he successfully thru-hiked the Appalachian Trail. Joe earned B.S. and M.E. degrees in Electrical Engineering from Cornell University, an M.M.A.S. from the Army’s Command and General Staff College, and an M.S. from the National Defense University. He now serves on the Boards of Advisors of two Cyber Security Associations. Joe currently resides in Annandale, Virginia.

Board Member: Rob Coughlin is a Partner and Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Granite Gear, LLC. He has 24 years of experience in cut and sew load carrying technologies and spends as much time as possible testing product on America’s trails and waterways. In 2010, Rob received the Sporting Goods Industry 40 under 40 Award. Rob currently resides in Libertyville, Illinois.

Board Member: Zachary Dietrich is a Marine Corps veteran and Clinical Psychologist at Psychological and Behavioral Consultants. He earned a B.A. in Social Science from Indiana University, an M.A. in Clinical Psychology from Cleveland State, and a Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from Georgia Southern University. In 2015, Zachary received the Jack N. Averitt Award for excellence in research. Since 2013, Zachary has volunteered with Warrior Expeditions as a Mental Health Consultant researching the effects of long term wilderness experiences on combat veterans. Zachary currently resides in Henryville, Indiana.

Board Member: Sean Gobin is a United States Marine Corps veteran who served 12 years as an Infantry Rifleman and Armor Officer. Sean earned a Bachelor of Science in Financial Management from the University of Mississippi and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Virginia. In 2015, Sean received the CNN Hero Award from Turner Broadcasting for founding Warrior Expeditions. Sean currently resides in Hillsville, Virginia.

Board Member: Shauna Joye is an Air Force veteran and Clinical Psychologist who founded Joye Psychology & Wellness, LLC. She earned a B.S. in Biology from Georgia Southern University and a Ph.D. in Psychology from Florida State University. Since 2013, Shauna has volunteered with Warrior Expeditions as a Mental Health Consultant researching the effects of long term wilderness experiences on combat veterans. Shauna currently resides in Savannah, Georgia.

Board Member: Bill Plouffe is a Navy veteran and is Of Counsel at the Portland, Maine law firm of Drummond Woodsum. He earned a B.A. from Holy Cross College and a J.D. from the University of Connecticut School of Law. Bill is listed in Best Lawyers in America in the categories of Land Use and Zoning Law, Land Use and Zoning Litigation, Municipal Litigation, and Municipal Law. He is President of the Maine Appalachian Trail Land Trust and is a former Board Member of the Appalachian Trail Conservancy and the Appalachian Mountain Club. Bill currently resides in Cumberland, Maine.
