Brendan Kelly

Warrior Expeditions is honored to be the recipient of Brendan Kelly’s fundraiser hike of the Long Trail in 2020!

Brendan Kelly is a Marine Corps veteran who served as an Infantry Rifleman with 1st Battalion 6th Marines and deployed to both Iraq and Afghanistan. Upon returning home, Brendan struggled to transition back to civilian life and decided to thru-hike the Appalachian Trail where he earned the trail name Pirate. Since completing the Appalachian Trail, Brendan has hiked two routes of the Camino de Santiago and embarked on a year-long round-the-world journey.

Recently Brendan suffered the loss of fellow Marine Corps veteran Michael Hodges whom he served with in Afghanistan. To honor Michael’s memory, Brendan will hike all 272 miles of the Long Trail starting on August 10th, 2020 and strive to hike 20 miles per day to pay tribute to the 20 veterans lost per day to suicide.
